Our Founder-Felix Berry
He has extensive experience in the food service industry and a proven ability to develop and manage profitable, successful restaurants over a sustained period. He has developed and executed expert business systems for several corporate entities, including Foodmaker, Inc., as well as building his restaurant operations such as West Coast Catering & Mr. BBQ Craft Services from 2002 to the present, Felix’s Food Factory in 1982, and Felix’s BBQ With Soul from 2008 to the present. Mr. Berry has methodically developed Felix’s BBQ With Soul. He has developed the team to manage an aggressive growth plan. He has set the stage for developing refined operating systems needed to roll out additional company-operated and franchised locations.
George Qualls
He is currently the Ocean Ranch restaurant Co-General Manager. He assists Felix in the daily operations of the business. Mr. Qualls has over thirty-six years of experience in the restaurant and catering business. He is truly a “Master” restaurateur. He began his career at sixteen as a dishwasher at the Mason Jar in Houston in 1973 and quickly advanced to Executive Chef. He advanced through the ranks of a West Coast restaurant chain and eventually was Chief Operations Officer for a chain of twenty restaurants. He has developed scores of restaurants in his lifetime and has performed all phases of building and operating multiple restaurants. He has turned around several failing operations. Above all else, he is supremely committed to customer service. Mr. Qualls is actively involved in various charitable and civic organizations in the Oceanside community. He is an integral part of the success of Felix’s BBQ With Soul now and in the future. In October of 2008, when Felix’s BBQ With Soul opened, he saw the beauty of the concept and instantly wanted to help Felix’s BBQ With Soul through the struggle of opening and operating in the first formidable months. He has been an invaluable contributor to developing the customer base that frequents Felix’s BBQ With Soul.
